Dizzy K Falola real name Kunle Falola
Some musical stars who in their youth stimulated Nigeria’s emerging music industry with a unique brand of pop music in the early ’80s may just be on their way back to the game.
Music lovers who were around then would readily remember young acts such as Kris Okotie with his “I Need Someone”, Dizzy K Falola with “Baby Kilode”, Felix Liberty with “Ifeoma”, and Jide Obi with “Front Page News”, among others.
Maggie’s Blogreliably gathered that some of these acts are warming up to relaunch themselves into the nation’s music industry.
Quite coincidentally, many of these stars of yesteryears are now full time ministers of the gospel and so would have nothing anymore to do with secular music with which they got their fame.
Informed sources have it that some of these onetime stars are returning to the scene through gospel music.
The first to shoot among them is Kunle Falola popularly known by his stage name Dizzy K Falola.
Currently based in London, this Obafemi Awolowo University graduate (then University of Ife) has concluded plans to hit the Nigerian music scene again, this time with a three-piece gospel album.
The three songs in the soon-to-be-released album are “Appreciate”, “United We Stand” and “Love So Diligent”.
Dizzy K Falola, now 57,who was mentored by the current chairman of the Board of COSON, Tony Okoroji (then a music producer), disclosed toMaggie’s Blogin a chat recently that he has been planning this come back for a long time now.
He’s also optimistic that those of his former colleagues who have the grace to still be alive and now doing gospel songs will see the need, just like him, to stage a comeback.
Stay tune toMaggie’s Blogas we continue to give you updates on this planned “Return of Stars of Yesteryears”.
