Flying Eagles
The Flying Eagles of Nigeria, on Monday night, crashed out of the on-going FIFA U-20 World Cup, after losing 2-1 to Senegal in the Round of 16.
The Junior Teranga Lions domiknated the game and were two goals up before the interval courtesy of goals by Amadou Sagna and Ibrahima Niane.
The Flying Eagles were more business-like on the restart and in the 50th minute, they got their chance when a Nigerian player was brought down just outside the Senegalese area.
Success Makanjuola stepped up to take the free kick which was diverted home by the enterprising A. Okon.
The Paul Aigbogun boys made efforts to level up and perhaps, drag the match into extra time but their opponents were resolute at the back and saw the game through.
Senegal will now go on to battle either Japan or Korea Republic in one of the quarter final encounters.
