It was all glitz and glamour in Lagos recently when Nigerian’s fast growing online outfit for sports items, NAIJA SPORTS MARKET, officially made public, her entry into the business of sales of everything sports.

The event, which had the best of Nollywood stars in attendance, saw quality individuals who came to give support to the budding entrepreneur and Canada-trained artist, Oswald Okojie, alias Ozzmanic, who oversees the company.

NAIJA SPORTS MARKET, which prides itself as the “Giant of sporting goods in Africa”, deals on Board Games, Football, Running Shoes, Sports Wears, Card Games, Table Tennis, Soccer Boot, Basketball, Gym, Accessories, Equipment, and Football Jersey. It had its launch at the Lagos office located in the Lekki area of the city with veteran actors, Paul Obazele, Maimuna Yahaya-Abaji, Mike Ezuruonye and Emeka Okoye present.

Speaking at the event, Ozzmanic said that the idea of NAIJA SPORTS MARKET was conceptualised eight years ago before he left for the university, when he was chosen to go play for Nigeria’s Under-17 football team. He disclosed that, having realised that most people who love sports do not have access to sporting wears, he decided to open NAIJA SPORTS MARKET to fill in the gap.

“We first started online,” Ozzmanic said, adding: “In fact, the moment Ahmed Musa scored the winning goal two years ago or thereabout, the Nigerian jersey became our most sought-after good and we sold out like in two days and that became our leveraging point at NAIJA SPORT MARKET, therefore, the need to open the flagship store in Lagos, where people from all works of life can walk in and make purchases for very high quality sportswear for the very best of prices in this part of the world.”

Speaking further on the need for regular exercise by Nigerians, Mr. Obazele said: “Our bodies are given to us by God, but God will not come down to help us take care of them. We need to really take care of our body and make it truly the temple of God, by keeping it clean spiritually and physically. A sick person he says cannot attract people to God, but a healthy person can.”
