A fierce battle is reportedly raging in Gamboru town of Borno State in Nigeria’s troubled North-East region, with the country’s soldiers bravely confronting suspected Boko Haram terrorists seeking to over-run the town.
“The area came under heavy attack this morning at about 5:30 a.m.,” the Abuja-based LEADERSHIP said in a breaking news just flashed on its online edition.
The newspaper did not provide any further details, and there was no confirmation by military authorities.
The military has repeatedly assured of its determination to halt the advance of Boko Haram insurgents and also flush them out of the towns currently under their control in the country’s North-East, which is presently under emergency rule.
