Suspected suicide bomber arrested at Lagos International Airport

There was a scare at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos on Monday when security officials accosted a young man suspected to be a suicide bomber.

The physically-challenged man was allegedly caught with substances suspected to be explosive devices rigged round his waist by private security guards near the airport. He was said to have been apprehended while attempting to gain entrance into the facility of Centrex unitof the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency, NAMA. The suspect has since been handed over to the Police.

As at the time of filing this report, the suspect was still being detained at the headquarters of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport Police Command, where he is undergoing interrogation.

The incident it was learnt caused panic among travellers and airport officials while passengers were further subjected to more checks by the security agencies.
