The Senate Council of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, has reconvened and announced the re-opening of its institution which was closed on Wednesday, June 18, in the wake of student unrest in reaction to fee hike.
A statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the university, Mr. Abiodun Olarewaju, announced that the institution will now be officially reopened on Sunday, August 24, 2014, with students coming into residence for the continuation of the 2013/2014 Harmattan semester while lectures resume the next day, August 25.
The release enjoined the students to face their studies squarely and conduct themselves in manners that will not be capable of truncating the re-adjusted academic calendar, wishing them a safe trip back to school and their different halls of residence.
