APC Guber candidate, Hope Uzodinma
A faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State has expelled the party’s governorship candidate, Senator Hope Uzodinma.
The factional chairman, Daniel Nwafor, told reporters on Thursday at the party’s secretariat in Owerri, the state capital, that Senator Uzodinma was expelled on the basis of alleged inordinate and anti-party activities.
He explained that the purported expulsion of the APC governorship candidate was sequel to the recommendation of a disciplinary committee set up to investigate his alleged anti-party activities.
Mr Nwafor added that the committee was set up following a petition by the APC Ward in Omuma, Oru East Local Government Area of the state where Senator Uzodinma hailed from,
According to him, the senator was accused of sponsoring candidates in the opposition camp ahead of the general elections.
Nwafor disclosed further that the factional State Working Committee was satisfied with the procedures and decision of Omuma Ward and affirmed the purported expulsion of the senator from the party.
He said the latest development has left APC without a governorship candidate in Imo in the forthcoming elections.
