An explosion has rocked Kano, the northern commercial capital, barely 24 hour after a twin suicide bomb attack killed at least 39 persons (official figure) in neighbouring Kaduna State.
A Radio Nigeria Network News report said the explosion took place this afternoon at the motor park located along New Kano Road in Sabon Gari, the part of the state capital dominated by non-natives.
The explosion was said to have taken place inside a luxury bus scheduled to go to Port Harcourt in the country’s South-South region.
The number of casualties is not yet clear and no group has claimed responsibility although the Boko Haram terrorist group had in the past targeted the area and some other parts of Kano.
Reports said security agents have blocked roads leading to the blast scene while rescue workers have been deployed to the scene.
