Revealed: Slain Kaduna journalist received death threats

Kaduna-based journalist Ustaz Yunus Adamu, who was assassinated in his house on Friday night, had been receiving threat text messages before he met his untimely death, News Express has learnt

Sources close to him who disclosed this to News Express said Adamu, who was General Manager of the weekly New Democrat newspaper, recently forwarded one of such death threats to his principal. It is not yet clear whether the slain journalist and his employers alerted security agents of the impending danger. New Democrat s published by Senator Ahmed Muktar Aruwa.

Meanwhile, Adamu’s remains have been buried in Kaduna in accordance with Islamic rites. His

funeral was conducted around 10am, attended by a large crowd of mourners who thronged his Ungwan Dosa residence to condole with the family.
