Breaking News: Senior journalist assassinated in Kaduna

The General Manager of New Democrat, a Kaduna-based weekly newspaper owned by Senator Mukhtar Aruwa, has been killed by unknown gunmen in Kaduna, North-West Nigeria.

Sources told News Express that the gunmen stormed the residence of Ustaz Yunus located at Ungwan Dosa around 7:45 p.m. last night and killed him in cold blood.

Some staff of the newspaper said he was killed by assassins because no single item was taken from his residence.

“We suspect a political undertone to his killing because the killers did not take anything from the house. They just stormed the house, killed him and disappear,” a member of staff New Democrat said.

Police spokesperson, SP Aminu Lawal, confirmed the incident, saying that investigation has already commenced into the killing.
