Merciless Germans humiliate Brazil 7-1 in World Cup semi-final

Brazil boasted they were hosting to win but tonight at the Estadio Mineirao in Belo Horizonte, they ended up with a basketful of goals, humiliated in front of their home fans with an unbelievable seven goals by the German Machine, while they were able to pull back only one.

On a night when everything went wrong for the 2014 World Cup hosts, who sorely missed the services of injured talisman Neymar, goalie Julio Cesar was thoroughly humiliated – made to endlessly fetch the ball from his own net.

The Brazil defence had inexplicably collapsed too early in the game. Müller opened the floodgate in the 11th minute while Klose extended the lead in 23 minutes.

Kroos added two quick goals in the 24th and 26th minutes while Khedira made it fifth in the 29th.

Hopes that the Samba Boys would bounce back powerfully on the restart soon petered out when Schürrle added salt to injury with goals in the 69th and 79th minutes.

This is the first time a team has scored seven goals in a World Cup semi-final.

Brazil’s consolation goal came on the dot of 90 minutes off the booth of Oscar.

While Brazil look forward to perhaps salvaging some pride in the loser’s match on Saturday, Germany are waiting for the winner of tomorrow’s second semi-final between Argentina and Netherlands for the final showdown on Sunday, July 13, to draw the curtain on the tournament which kicked off on June 12 with 32 teams.
