Umaru Dikko’s body arrives from London, burial to hold today

The body of Second Republic Minister of Transport, Alhaji Umaru Dikko, would be arriving Nigeria today from London, where he died on Tuesday, July 1.

A close family source who confirmed this to News Express also disclosed that the late Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain would be buried this afternoon after funeral prayers slated for 2pm at the Emir’s Palace in Zaria, Kaduna.

“Thereafter, condolences are to be received in his No. 2 Coronation Crescent residence in Kaduna,” the source said.

Dikko died after a brief illness, aged 77 and his body was initially scheduled to be brought home the next day for burial in accordance with Islamic rites.

Born on the December 31, 1936, late Dikko is survived by two wives, 11 children and many grand children.
