Update: How Umaru Dikko died

Former Minister of Transport during the President Shehu Shagari administration, Alhaji Umaru Dikko, died after a brief illness, News Express can confirm.

A family source who confirmed the death of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain told News Express at his residence in Kaduna, North-West Nigeria: “He died this morning in a hospital in the United Kingdom after a brief illness.”

The source disclosed that Dikko’s body “will be flown into the country tomorrow for burial here in Kaduna.”

Born on the December 31, 1936, late Dikko is survived by two wives, 11 children and many grand children.
