A bomb explosion has destroyed a small hotel in Bauchi State, North-West Nigeria, killing 10 people and injuring 14.
There has been no immediate claim of responsibility for the late Friday blast on the outskirts of the city of Bauchi.
An AFP report said the building was “widely known as a brothel,” making it a likely target of the Boko Haram Islamist militants who focus their violence on places they deem sinful, including bars, churches, and schools teaching a Western curriculum.
The blast occurred barely two days after at least 21 people were killed when an evening rush hour bomb tore through a crowded shopping district in the Nigerian capital Abuja minutes before the country faced Argentina in a final Group F match at the on-going World Cup in Brazil.
