Oyinlola joins GTBank Board as Non-Executive Director

Hezekiah Oyinlola, Chairman of Africa Schlumberger Group, has joined the Board of Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) plc as a Non-Executive Director. GTBank announced that Hezekiah Sola Oyinlola replaces Mrs. Stella Okoli on the bank’s Board of Directors following her recent retirement in compliance with the bank’s code of corporate governance which stipulates a retirement age of 70 years for directors.

Oyinlola is a seasoned professional with over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, having worked at Schlumberger Group since 1984. He has held multiple senior roles on the management team and was the first Nigerian Managing Director of Schlumberger Group in Nigeria, leading to his appointment to his current position as Chairman of Africa Schlumberger Group in 2011.

According to Segun Agbaje, Group Managing Director of GTBank, “This is in demonstration of our commitment to the sustenance of good corporate governance and succession planning. We are pleased to have appointed Mr. Oyinlola, a seasoned professional with a proven track record, to this position. All of us at Guaranty Trust Bank wish him the very best in his new position.”

Oyinlola’s appointment has been approved by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in compliance with the highest level of corporate governance standards.
