In a bid to enhance customer experience with new digital payment solution, foremost African financial institution; Guaranty Trust Bank plc, has launched an alternative channel for its customers to conveniently top up their mobile phones.

The alternate channel called “GTBank 1 Click Top-up” is another innovative product from the bank which was adjudged the 2014 African Bank of the Year for the second consecutive time by African Banker Magazine in May.

According to the financial institution, “GTBank 1 Click Top-Up is a novel offering pioneered by GTBank in the Nigerian Banking Industry. It offers GTBank customers on MTN, Etisalat and Airtel networks an efficient and easy way of topping-up their mobile phones using any type of mobile device.”

The bank noted that the “service will enable all GTBank customers top up their mobile phones from available balances in their bank accounts with ease. It brings a higher level of convenience to customers as it is designed to deliver with speed and simplicity.”

To recharge a mobile phone, customers need to dial *737*AMOUNT# from a registered phone number with the bank and the customer’s phone gets topped up automatically. Customers can recharge up to the sum of N5,000 daily.

The bank further noted that the product will also help telecommunications service providers digitalise payments as it reduces distribution cost, increases average revenue per user and also ensures round the clock sales of airtime.
