Arch Tonye Cole with Paul and Ruth Adube and some relatives in Omoku, Rivers State
All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Rivers State, Arch. Tonye Patrick Cole, has been moved to tears by the plight of Paul and Ruth Adube, whom he recently met during a trip to the Omoku area of the state. Their suffering was occasioned by a dastardly attack by political thugs who also shot dead their father Christopher Adube and three siblings “because they belonged to an opposition political party”, Cole tweeted.
Part of the tweet reads: “I just met Paul and Ruth Adube in Omoku, Rivers State.
“Their father Christopher Adube and 3 siblings were shot dead because they belonged to an opposition political party.
“Paul was shot too but survived.
“Today he is in a wheelchair and his sister Ruth was shot too.
“Her femur was shattered and two years later is still in crutches. Their story moved me to tears and Paul who is 17 must go back to school. I decided to cover that as well as Ruth’s surgery but they will need more than this. Peace in the end must come to Rivers State as a whole and ONELGA WILL BE FREE”.
Cole appealed for “Politics of compassion... Politics without violence... Politics of peace...,” ending with the hashtag @Nigeria2019election @no violence 2019 Rivers State @Rivers governor 2019.
