Breaking: Bomb blast averted in Abuja

What would have been a devastating bomb blast has been averted in the Garki area of Abuja, the Nigerian capital.

“Suspected Boko Haram members planted the bomb over-night at the Garki Market but security sources somehow got to know about it. Police arrived around 5 O’Clock this morning to detonate it,” a source in the area told News Express.

The police have meanwhile taken over the market.

The second largest in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) after Wuse Market, Garki Market is located close to Garki Village, which is suspected to accommodate Boko Haram cells.
