Arsenal end trophy drought, bounce back to beat Hull and lift FA Cup (Arsenal 3-2 Hull)

Fan favourites bravely fought back from two early goal deficits to beat Hull City 3-2 this evening at Wembley Stadium and win the 2014 English FA Cup. The victory, which ended a long wait for silverware at the Emirates, came courtesy of extra time goal buried in the 109th minute by Aaron Ramsey after diverting a back-heel from Olivier Giroud into the top corner.

Hull City had launched an early scare with early goals from James Chester in the 4th minute and Curtis Davies in the 8th.

Santi Cazorla revived Arsenal’s hopes with a 17th minute wonder goal off a free kick, with Laurent Koscielny drawing the Gunners level in the 71st.

After Ramsey’s extra time back breaker, spirited efforts by substitute, Nigerian international Sone Aluko, to equalise for the Tigers proved fruitless, thus ensuring that Arsene Wenger’s nine-year wait for a trophy had finally come to an end.
