Thunderstorms
The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted rain showers over the Central States of the country such as Ilorin, Minna, Abuja, Lokoja, Jos, Bauchi, Makurdi, Lafia, Jalingo and Yola axis on Wednesday morning.
NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Tuesday also predicted day and night temperatures in the range of 25 to 33 and 16 to 24 degrees Celsius, respectively.
It added that thunderstorms would prevail over the region later in the day.
The agency predicted southern states would experience intermittent rains throughout the forecast period with day and night temperatures in the range of 28 to 31 and 20 to 25 degrees Celsius, respectively.
According to NiMet, Northern States will experience cloudy morning with chances of thunderstorms and rains over places like Katsina, Kano, Dutse, Nguru and Maiduguri axis.
“In the afternoon and evening hours, thunderstorms and rains are anticipated over Sokoto, Gusau, Yelwa, Zaria, Kano and Maiduguri with day and night temperatures of 32 to 34 and 24 to 25 degrees Celsius, respectively.
“Intermittent rains and thunderstorms are expected over most places in the country within the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicts. (NAN)
