Private sector to benefit from Delta Housing Scheme — Commissioner

The state Commissioner for Housing Arch Ogeh Joseph Ajiri, has expressed optimism that the housing scheme in Delta state is not only for civil servants but also for private sectors who are willing to pay as required.

The commissioner made the statement during the Ministerial press briefing in Asaba recently. He explained the procedure for occupying the housing scheme by civil servants, adding that the qualified ones will be given out including private persons that have good business.

He emphasised that civil servants that have only three years to retire may not need to apply unless it will be affirmed for proper negotiations on the payment.

Ogeh opined that the Delta State Housing Development will not only centre in Asaba the Capital City but in other part of the state, adding that housing scheme development is to help civil servants and some private sectors to own a house through installments deduction from their salaries and for those in the private sectors will also have a way of reaching agreement.

Ogeh explained that misconduct of some staff in the ministry of housing has faced a gridlock to the staff. Some of the staff were asked to resign, others demoted and some denied their promotions.

Meanwhile, the commissioner for Urban Renewal Mr Peter Asupa Forteta, has stated that the duty of his ministry is not only on roads construction but also on beautifications of urban centres.
