Americans are being good Americans. One must love America no matter what. Americans study and learn from history. The feelings of most Americans on the Trump Administration’s separation of children from their parents at the southern border, is an illustration of Americans learning from history.

1.Mr. Davidson, a worker at Arizona Southwest Key was asked to separate hugging siblings at a detention center and he could not do it. He quit. That is standing up to authority and it cost him his job. He could have given the excuse that the Nazi officers gave: “I was obeying orders.”
2.Republicans, Mrs. Bush, Ted Cruz, Paul Ryan, and others in leadership positions have voiced their opposition to denying children under stress, parental care they need, because of their parent’s effort to seek asylum in US. The parents fleeing from irresponsible governments (like Buhari’s in Nigeria) face leaving their children behind or taking them along for a dangerous ride. Those parents could not bring themselves to leave their kids behind.
3.Democrats, like Nancy Pelosi, Kennedy, Schumer, etc., on the forefront of immigration issues, have led demonstrations against this inhuman policy. They have sought legislations and alliances to get ordinary Americans to show disapproval of this child abuse policy.
4.Ordinary Americans over talk radio/TV shows have called this a “war crimes act” and have called for the prosecution of the officers doing this.
5.American Press has thrown media light on the scenarios at different entry points of children being separated from mothers with both crying horribly.
6.Religious leaders: Catholic, Main Line Protestants, Evangelicals, and even the Pope who could be accused of interference on “Domestic Affairs” of the US have not been shy to speak up.
7.ETC.

Edmund Burke noted: “All That is Necessary for Evil to Triumph is for Good Men to Do Nothing”. Good men and women are doing something and this evil will not triumph. That is Americas trying to be good men and women and still good Americans.

Would that the world would join them! How about Nigerians speaking up on such cases in Nigeria. Nnamdi Kanu’s case is an example.
