16 commissioners out in the cold as Kogi Governor dissolves cabinet

The 16 commissioners in Kogi State, North-Central Nigeria, are now jobless. They suddenly lost their jobs when Governor Idris Wada announced the dissolution of the cabinet today shortly after the weekly executive council meeting.

A statement issued in Lokoja, the capital, by Mr Jacob Edi, Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Strategy, quoted Wada as thanking the 16 commissioners for their services to the government and people of the state since 2012 when they were appointed.

The commissioners have been directed to hand over all government property in their care to their permanent secretaries.
