We kidnapped Edwin Clark’s son because his father failed to provide us with job opportunities –Suspect

David Emevor, the principal suspect in the kidnap of Chief Ebikeme Anthony Clark, son of Ijaw National Leader and National Conference delegate, Senator Edwin Clark, has given reasons for their action.

Emevor, according to Daily Independent, said while being paraded by the police yesterday that Senator Edwin Clark, has not been providing job opportunities for the youths in the area despite that he has the power to do so.

The suspect disclosed that the kidnap gang members are jobless, saying about their decision to abduct Ebikeme: “Edwin Clark has not given us jobs even though he has influenced some developments to our area but it is not enough to put food on our table and make life comfortable for us.”

Ebikeme had been kidnapped last Wednesday at the site of the E.K. Clark University of Technology, Kiagbodo in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta, but was released Sunday morning.

Six suspects have so far been arrested in connection with the kidnapping while four are still at large.

Apart from David Emevor, those arrested are Joshua Ogofa, Bosin Kevwe, Sylvester Dio, Pius Arhavwaren and Prince Meslore. Presently at large are Timi, Abel, Ndamaw and Jacob Aloba.
