The National Conference has become bereaved.
The talk shop which started last week Monday, March 17, recorded its first death last night with the passage of Mallam Hamma Misau, a retired Assistant Inspector-General (AIG) of Police.
He died of an undisclosed illness at the National Hospital in Abuja, aged 67.
Reporting on his death, the online newspaper SaharaReporters recalled that Mallam Misau became famous after a photo of him taking a nap at the conference was shared on social media three days ago.
The paper quoted his cousin Barrister Mohammed Hamma as disclosing that a Muslim funeral is due shortly in Bauchi for the late delegate, who hailed from Misau in Bauchi State.
It is not yet clear if the late Missau will be replaced as his death has left the conference, which is scheduled to run for three months, one less of the 492 delegates.
