Manufacturers seek patent for generator that does not use fuel or gas

The generator which allegedly does not need fuel or gas to power

Two Nigerian technicians who recently announced the manufacturing of a power generating set that runs without fuel or gas have launched a quest for a patent for the product.

Gabriel Obinna and Moses Ezeilegbunam, both indigenes of Ekwulobia, Aguata Council Area of Anambra State, showcased their product at the premises of Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS), Awka, on December 9, 2017. They said they were moved to produce the generator by the high cost of petrol and epileptic power supply in the country.

“They are talking to their lawyer to patent the idea,” a source close to the two men told News Express.

Obinna had told journalists and other spectators during the demonstration at ABS field that the generator had 900 watts capacity and could power a ceiling fan, standing fan, television and a table top refrigerator at the same time and can work for 48 hours nonstop.

Ezeilegbunam, on his part, declared that the generator hardly requires maintenance, closing their intention to produce one that can power air conditioners, refrigerators of all kinds and electric heater, among others.

The two technicians solicited assistance of about N2 million to enable them go into commercial production of the generator.

Following huge interest by readers after the publication of the story on December 10, News Express made sustained efforts to get details of what powers the generator in the absence of fuel and gas and what happens after it runs for 48 hours nonstop. However, Messrs Obinna and Ezeilegbunam kept sealed lips despite several calls and text messages.

The source quoted earlier premised their silence on the fact that “they have been inundated with calls and are wary of people so that they don’t steal the idea.”
