Two students essay writing contests organised by Vine Shield Limited as part of the competitions that will herald the 2017 Igbo Awards will now on October 18, 2017 in Enugu, Enugu State and Owerri, Imo State respectively.
The FC Ogbalu Secondary School Igbo Literary Competition will hold at Metropolitan GSS Enugu. A press statement signed by Mazi ThankGod Ofoelue, Executive Director of the company, revealed that the Enugu State Ministry of Education is co-hosting the competition. The statement revealed that an initial test had been carried out across the six zones of the state where two winners emerged from each zone. These 12 winners will participate in the competition where one winner will finally emerge.
On the other hand, the Igbo and Linguistics Department of Imo State University, Owerri is collaborating with the company to organise the HRM Eze SM Ahamba Tertiary Igbo Literary Competition. Therefore, on October 18, tertiary students will sit for the examination where a winner will also emerge.
First, second and third prize winners will emerge in the two competitions and will receive cash prizes cash prizes at the Igbo Awards Grand Finale holding at Victoria Halls, Summer Hill Place, Enugu on November 24, 2017.
Igbo Awards Students Essay Competition is part of the Awards categories to be rewarded by Vine Shiled Limited at the grand finale of Igbo Awards. Other categories include Lolo Igbo Cultural Pageant and Igbo Awards proper.
