Super Eagles top defender Kenneth Omeruo has been praised for his display in his first game for English championship outfit, Middlesbrough, where he currently is on loan from Chelsea.
Speaking with News Express, his agent, Obinna Emelogu, said: “Omeruo played his first game for Middlesbrough (last weekend) and he performed wonderfully well. He is in (Chelsea’s manager) Jose Mourinho’s plans, hence he chose to loan him to an English club.”
Emelogu added: “The Middlesbrough experience will help Omeruo excel in England when he returns to Chelsea.”
Emelogu also spoke glowingly of Omeruo’s attitude, describing him as “a good boy who anyone would love to have as a son.”
He stressed that one of Omeruo’s top qualities is his ever willingness to want to learn in the game. “That,” Emelogu said, “is what has taking him to where he is today.”
Omeruo was on for the full duration of Middlesbrough’s away fixture against Doncaster United which ended 0-0. He is expected to start in his team’s upcoming home match against Blackburn Rovers which takes place on Saturday, February 8, at the Riverside Stadium.
It is also expected that playing regularly for Middlesbrough will keep Omeruo in top shape for the Super Eagles as the Brazil 2014 FIFA World Cup draws near.
