Edo, Delta govts depriving Egbema kingdom of entitlements: EYPF president

EYPF President, Comrade Miyenpirigha Messiah Ebidouwei

The people of Egbema kingdom in Delta and Edo states have been deprived of their entitlements under successive administrations in Warri North, Ikpoba-okha and Ovia South West Local Government Areas of Delta and Edo states as a result of disunity among the people of the kingdom.

Comrade Miyenpirigha Messiah Ebidouwei, President of Egbema Youth Progressive Foundation (EYPF), made this remark during the inauguration of EYPF executives at Little Paradise Hotel and Suites, Warri, Delta State, August 19, 2017.

He disclosed: “EYPF has come to eradicate every element of sycophancy or groups organised by anybody in and outside our jurisdiction. Egbema people are peace loving, and as such our kingdom ought to be included in all the developmental plans of our Governors and Local Government Councils in those two states and three local governments for fairness and tranquility in their administration.

“Those of us that are aspiring for one political position or the other from the federal to the local government level; that want our votes to win elections in those three Local Government Areas in Delta and Edo states, should learn to know us more because we are tired of voting for strangers.

“Therefore, if you are not comfortable to come down to our communities during your campaign and after your election. Please don’t border or think about any vote from our wards. How can you know the problems in our communities when you cannot afford to visit our kingdom for any reason? It is better not to vote at all than to vote for those that are not ready to develop our communities. Appoint our leaders to respected political offices, employ the youths and empower the less privileged in our great kingdom.”

The youth leader also affirmed that “Egbema is one entity as a kingdom, therefore we should learn how to live together in brotherhood and extend the tentacle of relationship to our neighbouring Ijaw kingdoms and other ethnic groups for peaceful coexistence.”
