CHAN do-or-die clash: Keshi talks big, unfolds Eagles squad to battle Bafana Bafana

Nigeria’s Head Coach Stephen Keshi has predicted a big battle between his Super Eagles and hosts Bafana Bafana of South Africa in this evening’s final Group A clash at the Championship of African Nations (CHAN).

Nigeria are third in the group with three points and need to win to qualify for the quarterfinals, while South Africa only need a draw to reach the knockout stage. In the other group clash, a draw will also be sufficient for second-placed Mali against bottom team Mozambique.

For Nigeria, therefore, it is do-or-die as they file out for the big game, with the psychological advantage that Nigeria have always beaten South Africa.

Hear Keshi: “I expect a great game. South Africa would be South Africa and Nigeria would be Nigeria. The fans will enjoy themselves.”

The brave sweat merchant is sticking to goalkeeper and skipper Chigozie Agbim, who is match rusty and has let in cheap goals at the championship, though with a promise to make amends today at the Cape Town Stadium.

Super Eagles start list against Bafana Bafana:

1 Chigozie Agbim (capt)

2 Solomon Kwambe

5 Ebenezer Odunlami

6 Azubuike Egwuekwe

7 Ejike Uzoenyi

8 Rabiu Ali (shown in photo)
