Keshi keeps faith with Agbim as Eagles get set to battle Mozambique in crucial CHAN clash

Nigeria’s Head Coach Stephen Keshi has kept faith with skipper Chigozie Agbim as the Home Super Eagles get set for the make-or-mar clash with Mozambique this evening at the African Nations Championship (CHAN) holding in South Africa.

Agbim (see photo) had come under fire for allegedly letting in two cheap goals in Monday’s 1-2 loss to Mali but Keshi and goalkeeper trainer Ike Shorunmu came to his defence.

The team list for tonight’s showdown (7pm Nigerian time at the Cape Town Stadium) has Agbim as the man to man the posts.

Keshi has attributed the team’s poor showing in the opening match to stage fright and promised that they would improve in subsequent games. Currently third behind South Africa and mali, Nigeria must beat the Mambas of Mozambique tonight to entertain any hopes of progressing in the competition reserved for players based in Africa.

Below is the team list as released by the Media Officer, Benjamin Alaiya.

Super Eagles Start List against Mambas of Mozambique:

1 Chigozie Agbim, 2 Solomon Kwambe, 4 Ugonna Uzochukwu, 5 Kunle Odunlami, 6 Azubuike Egwuekwe, 7 Ejike Uzoenyi, 8 Rabiu Ali, 9 Gbolahan Salami, 18 Bright Esieme, 19 Abdulahi Shehu, 20 Ifeanyi Ede.

Reserves: 10 Christian Pyagbara, 11 Barnabas Imenger, 12 Aliyu Abubakar, 14 Ikechukwu Gabriel, 15 Zango Umar, 16 Daniel Akpeyi, 17 Chinonso Obiozor, 21 Dele Alampasu, 22 Joshua Obaje, 23 Erhun Obanor.
