Earthquake in the army; 30 Generals affected

An earthquake of a sort has swept through the Nigerian Army, dramatically altering the fate of at least 30 Generals. Expectedly, at the top of the list is the pioneer General Officer Commanding (GOC), 7 Division, Maiduguri, Maj.-Gen. Obidah Ethan, who virtually lost the war against Boko Haram.

Maj.-Gen. Ethan’s redeployment, announced yesterday in a statement signed by the outgoing Director of Army Public Relations, Brig-Gen Ibrahim Attahiru, came exactly a week after Boko Haram warriors successfully invaded the Army Barracks in Bama – the second of such atrocity within weeks.

Maj.-Gen. Ethan is now the Chief of Civil Military Affairs, with Maj.-Gen Junaid Bindawa taking over his position as GOC of the 7 Division.

Other new postings approved by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Azubuike Ihejirika, include the following:
