Some 2,000 policemen have been mobilised to maintain peace as a controversial artwork that paints Jesus Christ and his apostles in very bad light goes on display.

The satanic artwork, an alternative take on Leonardo Da Vinci’s masterpiece The Last Supper, portrays Jesus as a transvestite surrounded by gay, lesbian and transexual disciples.

“It shows Christ in a dress, wearing high heels, flanked by apostles in kinky S&M gear and lingerie,” says The Sun of London in an online report uploaded just over an hour ago.

“This alternative take on Leonardo Da Vinci’s masterpiece has caused such controversy armed guards have been drafted in to keep watch on it amid threats of a protest,” the paper further says, adding:

“The piece – created by Swedish artist Elisabeth Ohlson Wallin – has just gone on display at an art exhibition in Belgrade, Serbia.

“The Ecce Homo exhibition opened surrounded by 2,000 police after reports protesters planned to gather outside.

“City officials have already cancelled a planned Gay Pride march – timed to coincide with the show – after threats of violent counter demos by ultra right-wing group Movement Dveri.”

News Express reports that the anti-Christ artwork comes just on the heels of Innocence of Muslims, a film by an Egyptian-American which paints Prophet Muhammad in bad light sparked riots across the world, claiming several lives, including those of Chris Stevens, the US Ambassador to Libya.
