Five weeks after their separation, Clara, the estranged wife of Enugu State Governor Sullivan Chime, finally broke her silence, lifting the lid on her ordeal during their five-year marriage.

Clara, who was returned to her mother on November 11, said in an exclusive interview with Channels Television that Governor Chime’s maltreatment resulted in her suffering from depression.

Her words: “I suffered from depression and the treatment I got from my husband led to it.”

Clara in the interview thanked Nigerians for coming to her rescue, expressing her joy that she is “now liberated” from Chime’s den.
