The prosecutor said the first charge of releasing an uncensored song, was an offence punishable under Section 112 of the Censorship Board Law of Kano State, 2002.
The second charge, according to the prosecutor, on indecent dressing, was contained in the video album of a political song by the accused, which was punishable under Sub-Section 95 of the Censorship Board Law of Kano State, 2002.
The Magistrate, Ali Gabari, who presided over the case, remanded the musician in custody at the Kano Prisons and adjourned the case toFriday, March 4, for judgment.
The musician had submitted a political song which he sang for former Gov. Rabiu Kwankwaso of Kano but refused to wait for appropriate certification from the state Censorship Board, before formally releasing the song.(NAN)
