Shakiru Giwa has resigned as head coach of Nigeria Premier Football League side Inter Lagos.
The club confirmed his exit on Tuesday through its official X account. His departure makes him the first manager to leave his role in the current NPFL season.
Inter Lagos thanked Giwa for his service, especially for leading the team from the Nigeria National League to the NPFL. The club described the promotion as a historic achievement and said his contribution would remain an important part of its story.
The club also wished him success in his future coaching career.
Giwa’s resignation comes after a poor start to Inter Lagos’ first NPFL campaign. The club has failed to win any of its opening eight matches and sits bottom of the table with two points. (Leadership)
