Mrs Sharon Ademefun, elder sister to Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed how she manages the musician’s financial portfolio to curb excessive spending on luxury assets.

Ademefun, who serves as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Davido Music Worldwide (DMW), stated that she conducts structured financial reviews with the artist to enforce fiscal discipline in a recent Talk Show ‘Morayo’ in Lagos.

“Me and Davido sit and have a finance meeting every week because I think it is important for him to know how his money is being spent. I will now say, ‘David, please, no more cars,’” Ademefun said.

She explained that her close family relation allows her to offer candid guidance regarding long-term financial management, a role she has maintained since the inception of his music career.

Ademefun also reflected on her upbringing in the prominent Adeleke family, noting that despite their wealth, financial discipline and strict budgeting were instilled in them from childhood.

The interview generated significant discussions on social media platforms, with commentators praising the implementation of corporate governance and structured wealth management within family-run entertainment enterprises.
