Troops of the Nigerian military have rescued 24 kidnapped victims, arrested seven suspected terrorist collaborators and informants, and repelled several attacks across the North-East and North-West.

An operational report made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday revealed that the operations were conducted between Monday and Tuesday under Operations Hadin Kai and Fansan Yamma.

The report said the troops of Operation Hadin Kai, apprehended six suspected terrorist collaborators and an informant in Borno and Yobe.

It added that three suspected collaborators were arrested along the Damaturu-Maiduguri road, while another three were apprehended at Makintakururi, Kaga Local Government Area, Borno.

According to the report, troops also arrested a suspected ISWAP informant loitering around Gajiram town, Nganzai Local Government Area, Borno.

“At Gubio, troops arrested another suspected collaborator who reportedly confessed to supplying Premium Motor Spirit to terrorists around Binduldul.

“Troops recovered mobile phones, cash and a vehicle from some of the suspects, while investigations continued.

“Also in Borno, a female terrorist family member and her baby surrendered to troops at Ngurusoye, Bama Local Government Area,” it said.

Under Operation Fansan Yamma, the report said that troops rescued six kidnapped victims at Sabon Gari, Wurno Local Government Area, Sokoto.

It added that troops also rescued 17 civilians along the Isa-Kwanar Isa-Shinkafi road in Isa Local Government Area, Sokoto State.

According to the report, one of the rescued victims sustained a leg fracture and was evacuated to Isa General Hospital for treatment.

The report further revealed that troops rescued another kidnapped victim after engaging terrorists around Mia Inuwa and Udochie areas of Danko Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi.

It added that the victim was handed over to the representative of the Wasagu District Head for medical attention and onward reunion with the family.

“The troops also repelled terrorist attacks on their locations at Zango, Kankara Local Government Area, Katsina, and Maiyama, Kebbi.

“In Sokoto, troops conducted an offensive operation around Asrara road, Kebbe, after detecting terrorist movements, forcing the terrorists to flee into the forest.

“Troops also recovered six rustled cows and arrested four suspected rustlers at Kalmalo village, Illela Local Government Area, Sokoto State.

“In Zamfara, troops restored normalcy at Damri village, Bakura, after terrorists attacked farmers and residents reportedly launched a reprisal against Fulani settlers.

“Meanwhile, troops and vigilantes are searching for locals reportedly missing after terrorists attacked farmers near Taguwa Hill, Rabah Local Government Area, Sokoto,” the report stated. (NAN)
