The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 20-year-old named Aminu Adam, who conspired with two other individuals to rob his own mother and siblings at their home in Wuro Kuturu, located in the Jimeta area of Yola North local government.

The other two suspects, Adamu Mamman and Nuhu Umar, both 22 years old, also reside in Wuro Kuturu, Nassarawo, in Yola North.

According to a statement from the command’s public relations officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroge, the incident took place around midnight on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.

The suspects allegedly armed themselves with dangerous weapons and broke into the family’s residence.

The statement said, “The suspects allegedly stole N200,000 in cash, two mobile phones and a power bank during the operation”.

Following a complaint by the victim, operatives of the Karewa Area Command commenced an investigation into the incident, leading to the arrest of the three suspects on Thursday, September 17.

The command said a knife, pliers and scissors were recovered from the suspects during the operation.

It added that some substances suspected to be hard drugs and a quantity of suspected Indian hemp were also recovered.

It further stated that the suspects reportedly confessed during interrogation to their alleged involvement in the robbery.

The Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State Command, CP Kabir Umar Hassan, directed a thorough investigation into the case.

He also ordered the command to ensure diligent prosecution of the suspects upon completion of the investigation.

The police said the investigation would establish the circumstances surrounding the alleged robbery and determine the individual roles of the suspects.

The command reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and property and combating criminal activities across the state.

It urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious persons, movements and activities to the police or other security agencies. (Nigerian Tribune)
