Osun Governor Ademola Adeleke bans NURTW activities after a garage clash kills Olalekan Oyeyemi, known as Ajagungbade Emir, in Ile-Ife.
Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has proscribed the activities of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) across the state following the killing of Olalekan Oyeyemi, popularly known as Ajagungbade Emir. Oyeyemi was shot dead on Sunday in Ile-Ife by suspected hoodlums during a clash over control of a garage in the ancient city. In a statement signed by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke directed the Commissioner of Police to immediately arrest those involved in the killing and ensure they are brought to justice. The governor also ordered all warring factions to immediately vacate motor parks across the state. He directed security agencies to restore normalcy and maintain law and order at motor parks. As part of measures to prevent further violence, Adeleke announced the reintroduction of the Park Management System across Osun. The governor is expected to issue an Executive Order providing legal backing for the new system. (AriseNews TV)
