President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has celebrated Vice President Kashim Shettima on his birthday, describing him as an accomplished public servant and steadfast patriot committed to the service of Nigeria.
Akpabio, in a birthday message issued to mark the occasion, praised Shettima’s career in public service, which has included serving as Commissioner, Governor of Borno State, Senator and Vice President of Nigeria.
He commended the Vice President for his leadership during his tenure as governor of Borno State, particularly at a period when the state faced severe security challenges from terrorism.
According to Akpabio, Shettima demonstrated resilience and continued to provide leadership despite the difficult circumstances confronting the state.
“Yet you remained at your duty post, providing leadership in the face of danger and demonstrating that adversity must never be permitted to extinguish hope,” he said.
The Senate President also praised Shettima’s role as Vice President and his partnership with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in implementing the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
He said the partnership demonstrated the importance of unity of purpose at the highest levels of government as Nigeria confronts its current challenges and works towards a more prosperous future.
Akpabio, who extended the birthday wishes on behalf of his family, constituents and the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, prayed for Shettima to have many more years of good health, wisdom, strength and fulfilment.
He also prayed for continued guidance and strength for the Vice President in his service to the country.
“Happy Birthday, Mr Vice President. May God bless you, and may God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” Akpabio said.
