While the world mourns the passing of iconic Country music singer Dolly Parton, the cause of her death has been revealed.
TMZ reports that Parton died after a brief battle with cancer, with her representatives revealing that she was surrounded by loved ones at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Centre in Nashville when she passed on.
Speaking further, her reps stated that Parton brought “joy, laughter, hope and integrity” to everything she touched, highlighting her enormous generosity through Imagination Library and her support of medical research.
According to them, the singer’s unconditional love for others was the driving force behind her lasting impact.
Per the aforementioned news outlet, sources shared that while Parton’s family and friends knew that she was sick, they still believed she would pull through. Those closest to her were reportedly shocked by her death.
Parton had been in the hospital days before her demise after dealing with health problems in recent months.
