The Super Sand Eagles on Saturday romped into the finals of the on-going CAF Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations 2016 in an emphatic fashion by beating Morocco 6-1.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Super Sand Eagles at the match played at Eko Atlantic City dominated the possession from the blast of the whistle.

The match had the Secretary General of FIFA Fatma Samoura on the VIP stand together with the Chairman of Lagos State Sport Commission (LSSC) Deji Tinubu and Lagos State FA Chairman, Seyi Akinwunmi.

The Eagles showed more determination and resilience than their last group game against Ghana which ended 4-3.

Emmanuel Ohwofeira put the Eagles ahead in the second period while Azeez Abu doubled the lead with a fantastic shot. Morocco pulled one back to make it 2-1.

The Super Sand Eagles however scored three goals in succession thereby putting the game out of the reach of the Moroccans with Emeka Ogbonna on target.

Emmanuel Ohwofeira scored on the spot to make it 5-1 while the Moroccans chief tormentor and Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the match Abu scored from a tight angle to make it 6-1.

The victory also sealed the top spot for the Nigerian sides for the Beach World Cup in Bahamas next year.

Nigeria’s defender Victor Tale said that the team will now prepare to win the final on Sunday.

“The victory actually should be a morale booster for us to win the cup again for Nigeria.

“We fear no foes, so Nigerians should pray for us to win the final which will be the ultimate,” he said.

NAN reports that Nigeria will now meet Senegal who defeated Egypt 5-3 in the first semifinal match.
