Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has taken an early lead in today’s gubernatorial election, according to early ballots collated by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Out of the three officially released results as at the time of this report, Adeleke, of the Accord Party, won two, with his main challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), winning the other.

Adeleke won Polling Unit 39, Ward 4 and Polling Unit 13, ward 4, Osogbo Local Government Area, with Oyebamiji winning Polling Unit 003, Alagba, also in Osogbo, the state capital.

Below are the results for Unit 39, Ward 4, as declared by the Presiding Officer (PO), ‎Oyeranmi Deborah:

However, in Polling Unit 003, Alagba, Oyebamiji polled 177 while Adeleke secured only 60 votes.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Najeem Salaam, received three votes, while candidates of the Action Alliance (AA), Young Progressives Party (YPP) and Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) scored one vote each.
