A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has launched attack on former Ikwerre Local Government Chairman of Rivers state, Dr. Samuel Nwanosike, describing his recent comments against former Rivers State Governor, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, as reckless, uncivilised and evidence of political desperation.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Eze condemned Nwanosike’s reported declaration that the political battle ahead of the 2027 general elections would be taken to Amaechi’s “bedroom,” insisting that such has no place in a democratic society.

According to Eze, politics should be driven by ideas, competence, performance and the confidence of the electorate rather than threats, intimidation and personal attacks.

He argued that Rivers people are interested in leaders with practical solutions to the state’s challenges, not politicians who resort to inflammatory rhetoric.

The ADC stalwart also rejected what he described as attempts by Nwanosike to rewrite the history of Amaechi’s political career, maintaining that the former governor’s administration recorded significant achievements in education, healthcare, infrastructure and human capital development across Rivers State.

He challenged Nwanosike to provide a verifiable account of what successive political leaders have delivered to Ikwerre people instead of focusing on personal attacks against Amaechi.

Eze further alleged that the repeated attacks on Amaechi reveal growing anxiety within the political camp loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, ahead of the 2027 elections.
