Grammy-nominated Afrobeats star, Davido
Afrobeats star Davido has revealed he does not want any of his children to pursue music as a career.
Speaking on Vibe interview, the husband to Chioma said his decision stems from his own struggles in the industry.
He noted that his second daughter, Hailey, is already showing interest and has a good voice, but he’s unsure about supporting her.
“I don’t want any of my children to pursue music. My second daughter is already leaning towards music. She is the life of the party. She behaves just like me. She actually has a good voice.
“But I know what I went through. Can you go through what I go through? Knowing what I have been through”, he said.
Davido, however, said he won’t stop them if they are passionate, just as his parents allowed him to chase his dreams.
“But because my parents and my family eventually allowed me chase me dreams, I would never want to block any of my children from chasing their dreams. And if they are good, why not?”, he added. (The Nation)
