The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the commencement of registration for candidates seeking admission into Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) programmes in Colleges of Education and non-technological agricultural programmes in polytechnics across the country.

The Board said interested candidates can register at any Institutional Professional Registration Centre (IPRC) located in Colleges of Education or any JAMB Professional Registration Centre (PRC) nationwide, provided they possess the required O’Level credits.

JAMB, in a statement issued by its Acting Director of Public Affairs and Protocol, Dr Fabian Benjamin, said the registration exercise follows the Federal Government’s decision to waive the requirement for candidates seeking admission into NCE and non-technological agricultural programmes to sit the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

According to the Board, it has developed a robust admission process that will ensure only qualified candidates are admitted into the programmes while maintaining and enhancing academic standards.

Under the new policy, eligible candidates are only required to present their O’Level credentials at any designated IPRC or JAMB PRC to complete their registration without writing the annual UTME.

JAMB urged prospective candidates to take advantage of the opportunity by promptly visiting the designated registration centres in Colleges of Education or JAMB offices nationwide to complete the process.

The Board also disclosed that candidates who participated in the 2026 UTME but have decided to pursue NCE or non-technological agricultural programmes can convert their applications at any IPRC or JAMB PRC at no additional cost.

It further explained that the policy is designed to expand access to teacher education and non-technological agricultural programmes while preserving and improving the quality of training in the two critical sectors. (The Sun)
