Some Nigerian nationals in South Africa awaiting evacuation have reportedly staged a protest at the Nigerian High Commission in Pretoria over delays in repatriation flights and the processing of their return to Nigeria.
News Central TV disclosed this in a video shared on X on Monday, in which the protesters were said to be expressing frustration over the delays, insisting that they wanted to be evacuated back to Nigeria as arranged.

“We no go gree o, we wan go,” the protesters were heard chanting their desire to leave South Africa.
The video comes amid ongoing repatriation efforts for Nigerians seeking to leave South Africa following renewed anti-immigration tensions and xenophobic concerns in the country.
PUNCH had previously reported that hundreds of Nigerians underwent screening at the Nigerian High Commission in Pretoria as part of the Federal Government’s evacuation programme, with officials working to finalise flight arrangements for returnees.
While 258 Nigerians have been successfully evacuated from South Africa, over 742 registered citizens reportedly remain stranded across various provinces, facing hunger and homelessness due to flight logistics delays, prompting urgent calls for the federal government to expedite their repatriation.
