The remains of the late actor Alex Ekubo arrived in Abia State ahead of his burial rites, scheduled for today, June 18.
His body was received at his father’s residence in Arochukwu, where family members, friends, colleagues, and fans gathered in an atmosphere of grief and remembrance.
The actor’s death shocked many across Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
Social media videos showed mourners paying tribute as his remains returned home.
The wake-keeping was held on the evening of June 17 and drew several prominent figures.
Attendees included Ini Edo, IK Ogbonna, Yomi Casual, Venita Akpofure, Nons Miraj, Mike Godson, and other close associates.
The event included prayers, tributes, and reflections on Ekubo’s life, career, and impact on Nollywood.
The funeral service and reception are scheduled for today, June 18, at Mary Slessor School Field in Amanagwu Village, Arochukwu, Abia State.
He will be buried at his family home at 7 Ekubo-Okwareke Avenue, Aziukwukwa Ujari Village, Arochukwu.
