There was widespread anxiety today over the well-being of Osi Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Isioye-Dada.
A palace source, who pleaded anonymity, said the monarch has joined his ancestors. This could not be confirmed from his family members or the Oyo State government.
The Oba was said to have been ill for sometime.
The source said a delegation of Omo Oye has visited his house.
There are likely to be changes in the hierarchical structure of the Ibadan stool leadership over the development on the Balogun line.
Those likely to be affected include the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate Senator Sharafadeen Ali.
After the approval of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, Alli may be promoted from Ekaarun Balogun to Ekerin Balogun of Ibadanland.
Oba Akeem Mobolaji Adewoyin may move from Ekerin Balogun to Asipa Balogun of Ibadanland. (The Nation)
